چکیده

This article is concerned with maximal accretive realization of geometric Kramers-Fokker-Planck operators on manifolds with boundaries. A general class of boundary conditions is introduced which ensures the maximal accretivity and some global subelliptic estimates. Those estimates imply nice spectral properties as well as exponential decay properties for the associated semigroup. Admissible boundary conditions cover a wide range of applications for the usual scalar Kramer-Fokker-Planck equation or Bismut’s hypoelliptic laplacian. HÖLDER AND L ESTIMATES FOR b ON CR MANIFOLDS OF ARBITRARY CODIMENSION

The ∂̄b complex on the boundary of a complex manifold was first formulated by Kohn-Rossi [KR] to study the boundary values of holomorphic functions and holomorphic extensions. In this paper we study ∂̄b and b on a CR manifold of arbitrary codimension. When the CR manifold M is of codimension 1 and strongly pseudoconvex (or more generally, when M satisfies condition Y (q)), Kohn [K2] proved that b...

Tunnel effect for Kramers-Fokker-Planck type operators

We consider operators of Kramers-Fokker-Planck type in the semi-classical limit such that the exponent of the associated Maxwellian is a Morse function with two local minima and a saddle point. Under suitable additional assumptions we establish the complete asymptotics of the exponentially small splitting between the first two eigenvalues. Pseudodifferential Methods for Boundary Value Problems

In these lecture notes we introduce some of the concepts and results from microlocal analysis used in the analysis of boundary value problems for elliptic differential operators, with a special emphasis on Dirac-like operators. We first consider the problem of finding elliptic boundary conditions for the ∂̄operator on the unit disk. The rather explicit results in this special case delineate the ...

Exponential convergence to equilibrium for kinetic Fokker-Planck equations on Riemannian manifolds

A class of linear kinetic Fokker-Planck equations with a non-trivial diffusion matrix and with periodic boundary conditions in the spatial variable is considered. After formulating the problem in a geometric setting, the question of the rate of convergence to equilibrium is studied within the formalism of differential calculus on Riemannian manifolds. Under explicit geometric assumptions on the...

Subelliptic SpinC Dirac operators, III The Atiyah-Weinstein conjecture

In this paper we extend the results obtained in [9, 10] to manifolds with SpinC-structures defined, near the boundary, by an almost complex structure. We show that on such a manifold with a strictly pseudoconvex boundary, there are modified ∂̄-Neumann boundary conditions defined by projection operators, Reo + , which give subelliptic Fredholm problems for the SpinC-Dirac operator, ð eo + . We in...
